Does anyone have any policies on mouth jewelry for hospital patients? I know the surgery departments has a process - but how about your regular nonsurgical patient ? We have had difficulties with patients who need emergent intubation - only to find out problems with the "large" piece of jewelry in their mouth. Do you require that they remove it or sign a waiver? Any suggestions are welcome? Thanks in advance.
