When employees, hospitals or physicians become aware of an issue that could manifest in a negative manner, they have a duty to warn those that could be affected. For instance, if there is a situation where there is a domestic dispute involving allegations of harm with a deadly weapon, an organization has the duty to warn. If someone states they are going to harm themselves with weapons at home, this would also fall under "duty to warn". We are seeing more of this type of behavior. Bottom line, organizations and their leaders cannot turn their head when they hear these types of threats!
