Broken Medical Equipment

Would anyone share with me your policy on how you handle broken medical equipment?  We have a policy on reporting under Safe Medical Device Act but I am looking for how your facility handles getting broken equipment to biomed and back in a timely, coordinated fashion.  Thanks for any information you can provide?

What kind of medical equipment? You probably have a biomedical department, I think they can evaluate the problem and give you a prompt answer with a solution. Time depends, finding solutions for a broken MRI might be different then a Pulse-Oximeter. Also the department where this broken equipment is coming from should have direct communication with Biomedical engineering.
