Does anyone know the difference in the University of Florida's 120-Hour Online Health Care Risk Management Certificate Program and ASHRM's CPHRM? It is advertised on the ASHRM site and shows you get 120 collge hours when complee plus a certificate at the end? Thanks in advance.

Florida Statute requires every facility to have a Licensed Risk Manager and has specific reporting requirements for that individual for adverse events and annual surgical harms.
The course is a self guided class with an exam at the end.

The USF program is only really germane if you live and practice in Florida, since it qualifies you for licensure as a risk manager in Florida. As far as I can recall, Florida is the only state with a licensure requirement. From what I hear from my Florida colleagues, most such licensed risk managers work for ambulatory surgery centers, of which Florida has a lot.
